  • Minimum 60 Semester Hours with 2.0 GPA
  • Gen Ed Requirements for AA or AS degree
  • "C" or better in ENG 1001, ENG 1002, and SPH 1001
  • Non-western requirement (1 course)

For Science Gen Ed requirements 1 course must be completed in Life Science and 1 course in Physical Science. Please note that any student enrolling in an education course that includes a clinical experience/observation component may be subject to an Illinois State Police background check at the student's expense to ensure the safety of the children being observed. Students enrolled in Early Childhood Education, Teacher Education or Paraprofessional Education programs at IVCC are required to submit, upon initial enrollment, to a background check through Accurate Biometrics. Students will also submit to ongoing evaluations of professional and ethical disposition indicators throughout their tenure at IVCC. Students are expected to abide by ECE and EDC handbook rules and regulations as well as IVCC Code of Conduct policy and procedures. It is the responsibility of the student to examine school code requirements regarding certification and employment (School Code: 105 ILCS 5/21-23.9 http://www.ilga.gov) There may be additional requirements for transfer admission not included in the sample curriculum above. Consult with a Counselor to develop your individual plan of study.
