Students will build foundational skills, including chemistry, electronics and instrumentation. The courses will focus on both theory and hands-on experience with lab exercises and industry demonstrations and visits. Students will learn about process systems, process equipment, instrumentation, troubleshooting, and reading blue prints and schematics. Safety will be stressed throughout the entire curriculum. The program will also include written and oral communication skills, technical mathematics, and computer applications. The goal of this program is to provide area employers with an entering workforce that will have the necessary basic skills to safely and successfully perform those duties required for an entry-level process operator.
