This program is not designed for students transferring to other colleges or universities. As a rule, courses with a second digit "0" are designed to transfer. Students planning to transfer should consult a Counselor to verify the transferability of courses. Prerequisites for courses are noted in the IVCC Catalog. Program Pre-Admission Information is included if applicable.

ECE 1000 is a prerequisite for the following: ECE 2202, ECE 2207, and ECE 2219; ECE 1000 is a pre or co-requisite for ECE 1205, ECE 2202, & ECE 2208.

ECE 1202 is a prerequisite for ECE 1204.

EDC 1203 - Educational Technology must be taken prior to enrolling in ECE 2206. This is a Spring only offering.

ECE 1027, ECE 1202, ECE 1203, ECE 1201, ECE 2207, and ECE 2208: Fall only

ECE 1005, ECE 1204, ECE 2202, and ECE 2203: Spring only

ECE 1205 - Math is preferred or IAI General Education Math. ECE 1205 is a Fall only course.

ENG 1205: Preferred unless transferring.

The following courses must be completed before ECE 2219: ECE 1000, ECE 1201, ECE 1202, ECE 1203, ECE 1204, ECE 2202, ECE 2207, and ECE 2208.

A minimum cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 2.0 is required prior to enrolling in ECE 2219. Students must have a "C" or better in all courses. Petitioned approval by the ECE Program Coordinator is required the semester prior to student teaching (ECE 2219). All forms must be completed prior to registering.

Upon enrollment to ECE 1000, ECE 1202, ECE 1204, and ECE 2005, students are required to:

  • Complete the Illinois State Police (ISP) and Federal Bureau of Investigations (FBI) Background Checks. Students must purchase the "Observation Binder" from the Bookstore which includes the fee and the forms for a one-time background check.

Students will be held accountable to the IVCC Education Candidate Disposition Policy found in the Observation Binder.
