What Follows is the Program Outline.
This program is designed for students interested in working with children birth - age 8 (grade 2). The AAS degree (ECE Level 4 Credential) also transfer, in full, to all public and some private universities in Illinois.
Early Childhood Education Associate In Applied Science
Level 2
This certificate is intended for students who are currently employed in the early childhood field as teacher assistants and wish to gain the Level 2 credential for the program's ExceleRate status. If student is planning to transfer to a 4-year university, it is important to review the GATEWAYS CREDENTIAL LEVEL 3 CERTIFICATE to insure seamless transfer from Level 2 to Level 3 and/or meet with IVCC ECE Program Coordinator or IVCC Counselor. ECE courses are sequenced (fall/spring) and students beginning in the spring semester may take longer for completion of certificate.

The transfer schools' general education requirements vary, and may affect a candidate's program enrollment or recognition as an Early Childhood Education major. Students must earn a C or above in all courses.
